What it entails

Real draws, honest handicaps

Our headline act is the Grove Open each August — 128 players, three days, finals under lights with the whole club watching from the terrace.

Around it runs a full calendar: spring and autumn box leagues, a winter handicap where beginners genuinely reach finals, monthly social doubles, and a junior circuit whose points feed academy selection.

What’s included

Inside the competition calendar

The Grove Open

Singles, doubles and mixed across five grades every August. Ball kids, chair umpires and a finals barbecue included.

Box Leagues

Five-player boxes by level, refreshed every eight weeks. Arrange matches yourself; the desk handles balls and courts.

Junior Circuit

Monthly age-group events from under-8 red ball to under-18s, with ranking points and county-trial recommendations.

How it works

From entry to finals day

1. Enter online

Entries open six weeks out on the events page. Members enter free; guests pay a small event fee.

2. Get graded

New players get a 20-minute grading hit so every draw is competitive from round one.

3. Play your rounds

Weeknight and weekend slots with new balls every match and a referee on call for disputes.

4. Finals weekend

Show courts, umpires, live scoring on the clubhouse board and trophies engraved the same night.

Tournament FAQs

Friday social doubles or a bottom-box league place. Both are designed for first-time competitors, and the handicap system keeps matches close.

Both: events are split by age band first, then graded into draws so every child plays opponents at their own stage.

Clay matches move to the hard courts or reschedule within the week. Finals weekend has a built-in reserve day every year.
